With our 2021 Cactus Cup Team Championship approaching in just 6 weeks we are gearing up for our next season. We were able to keep a lot of our sponsors and also added a lot of new ones that should make for another awesome season with great payouts and tons of prizes. Last year we averaged paying out cash and prizes to 20 spots at each event and this year should be even more. This next year’s schedule sets up great for each lake at that particular time, including another Mohave event which will be an open event in the middle of the spawn. We will also be adding in Alamo this season as we didn’t get to go there last year due to Covid.
There will be no major changes as far as rules go but this next season you will only have to fish 4 of the 6 events to qualify for the championship in the fall. We are super excited to announce that we will be sending the Angler’s of the Year team back to Baccarac Lake in Mexico with Pro Bass Adventures once again. Marty Halsey and Jim Darling took home AOY this season and are going to be heading down there this February with the guys from FishIn48, Wickedbass and Lifted Trucks. We are stoked that we will be able to offer this trip twice a year as it is no question the trip of a lifetime. Last season’s biggest payout was at Roosevelt with Jamie Royter and Jordan Erekson taking home $5187 out of 45 boats! Other payouts were as followed – 2nd place $2702, 3rd place $1369, 4th place $1444, 5th place $759, 6th place $553, 7th place $602, 8th place $482, 9th place $479. Payouts are only going to get bigger and better with our new sponsors and more boats and we are hoping we get to break that $10k mark for 1st place a few times this year. Below is our tentative 2022 tournament schedule.

Payouts will continue to be 80/20 and payback will be 1 in 6 this season instead of 1 in 5. Just so there is no confusion overhead comes off the top and the pot is 80% after expenses. Our expenses ( staff, trophies, fuel, supplies ) will remain low and with our sponsors we should always be right around 80% or higher with cash payback and over 100% payback if you include the value of product handed out. Last year we were over 100% every event with cash and prizes and will be doing the same this next season. This is what minimum payouts will look like for first place with 1st place taking around 37% of the pot
- 100 boats – $10,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 90 boats – $9,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 80 boats – $8,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 70 boats – $7,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 60 boats – $6,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 50 boats – $5,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 40 boats – $4,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 30 boats – $3,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 20 boats – $2,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
- 10 boats – $1,000 minimum – does not include big fish money or option money
