For most anglers there is one special plastic they like due to the smell and saltiness you feel when pulling them from the bag. You get a sense of confidence that those fish are definitely holding on when they get that first taste. But what about cranks, jigs, and other baits that don’t come like some of our plastics? Well here is my top 3 fish attractants out there that will make sure those bass are holding on the next time they are ready to eat!
1. Baitmate
Baitmate has been my favorite for quite sometime and now with their large selections of products continuing to grow, they are tough to beat. They recently have released the Bass and Craw Ultra Spray. Whats great about this, is it comes in a thin, light weight aerosol can which allows for a continuous spray so you don’t have to keep pumping. I would recommend throwing the craw spray on anything thats going to be banging off the bottom. Here are some selling points below on the Ultra Continuous Spray from Baitmate. Also check out their stick applicator for all of your favorite hard baits, it doesn’t disappoint!
- Natural fish oils create a scent bass can’t resist
- Ideal for live bait, hard lures, and artificial soft baits
- Amino acids to enhance fishing scent
- Precision application, spray directly on any artificial lures or live bait
- Continuous spray in any direction, even upside down – no pumping
- Is 100% fish attractant and contains no ozone depleting propellants
Available in Bass and Crawfish
- Find them at Mills and select Walmarts or www.baitmate.com
2. Bang Fish Attractant
Bang has been something I have had on my boat for a very long time. I love to use the Bang Garlic Scent for all of my jigs and some of my plastics. They also have a shad, shrimp, and crawfish scent as well. The one things I would recommend with the bang is to definitely spray the baits down wind. I have had some days where I cant get the garlic smell out of my nose. Other than that this a great product especially for flipping jigs and their new cleaner bottle has recently come out as well.
3. Spike it Dip-N-Glo
I think this is product is extremely under rated when you talk with others about their favorite fish attractants. Granted you are limited to pretty much plastics with this, BUT it really gets the job done. I use this for EVERY single one of my chatter bait trailers, drop shots, and skinny dippers. Be careful when you dip it and make sure you do it over the boat because it is not easy to get out of clothes, boat fabric, or your skin AND it smells strong of garlic. Overall though its great and always something I have on my boat.
All of these products are great but I would have to go with Baitmate if I could only choose one. If you have some others out there that weren’t mentioned please leave in the comments section so we can give them a try.
