Do you constantly see people posting awesome videos of their fishing experiences? I know before I started doing it, the videos on facebook and youtube were doing a few things to me. The first thing they did was motivate me to go fishing ( not hard ) and the second was to teach myself how to produce videos for myself so I can have these memories for a lifetime and to share with friends. After playing around with a bunch of different products, here are my top 5 GoPro accessories to have on board to create those awesome fishing videos.
- GoPro Suction Cup Mount
The GoPro Suction Cup really is a game changer for those that own a bass boat. With GoPro having such a wide POV you can suction this to the windshield of the dash, driver or passenger depending on what you have. I like to have a battery charger plugged in so every time I fire up the big motor I can switch one out for a fresh one. It also allows you to easily view and delete footage that you wont need if you go an hour or two with no action.
- Chesty Mount
The Chesty mount is a must have for bass fishing because this is going to be the most personal POV you have. You can use others like the head mount or the rod mount but I have found that the Chesty hands down lets the audience have the best look as to what you are seeing during the fight. Make sure to use your newer model GoPro on this mount with a high FPS so you can slow those good shots down.
- Karma Grip
The Karma Grip is going to be great when you have a friend on the boat with you. The GoPro Karma Grip has a gimbal that gets rid of all the shakiness you see with a lot of hand help cameras. You can get shots when going full speed on the boat or even to record your buddies entire fight, all the way up to the release in a cinematic experience.
- The Powerstick – By Yolotek
POWERStick-53″ is what the pros use to mount & provide constant power to their GoPro, VIRB, other action camera or your phone too. If you’re tired of dead GoPro batteries and fussing with unstable mounts, the YOLOtek POWERStick-53” is here to save the day. The POWERStick 53” plugs right into your navlight (anchor light) port in back or your running light port in front on your boat and requires no tools to set up! It converts 12volt from the navlight port to 5volt USB to POWER YOUR GoPro or phone ALL DAY LONG! It also makes very little impact on your cranking battery, so no fear of that battery dying either.
- Final Cut Pro X
This is the tool you are going to need when you have all of your content ready and you are on your way home from the lake. Download this software from the app store and if needed they have tutorials on youtube that will show you all the basics on how to edit and cut your next fishing video.
