2023 Cactus Cup Team Trail

Our 3rd season of the Cactus Cup Team Trail is about 1 month away. We will have our first event kicking off the season at Martinez Lake, January 14th, 2023. We have added some new sponsors this year that will be giving out prizes at each event for teams that are out of the money. This year we will give out $4300 in prizes for those teams out of the money! In order to collect your prizes you must be present or those prizes will be carried over to the championship. Q Bar & Grill will be at all of our events except Martinez and Mohave to provide burgers and dogs for all of our anglers once they get off the water. For 2023 we will be raising the entry fee $10 per angler and we will take $20 from each entry to go into the championship fund. We will have a ticker on the home page of FishIn48 so you can see the total fund after each event. One rule we will be changing this year will be the pre fish rule. You will be able to fish with someone other than your partner on official practice but it will have to be a significant other or family. Our contingencies will be back again for the major boat manufactures so make sure to sign up for your contingencies for 2023 if you haven’t yet. A&M Graphics will also be doing a contingency this season. If you win an event and have an A&M Graphics wrap you will win an extra $300. At the bottom of this post you can see all of our sponsors along with our codes to save some money on your next purchases.

Schedule

Martinez Lake – January 14th, 2023

We will be at Fishers Landing once again for another slug fest on the river. This is always a great event with some GIANT fish brought to scales. Last year, this event was our largest turnout with 69 boats. We had the top 20 with weights all over 15lbs and the top 5 all over 20lbs. The big fish of the event was a 7.79lb Largemouth from Mike Williams and Jerry Fisher. We will be having our event the same weekend as the car show so our weigh in will start at 3:15pm instead of 3pm so the parking lot will be open for all.

Bartlett Lake – February 4th, 2023

We will be at Bartlett Lake two times this season. Last year our Angers of the Year Rob and Mason Smook took home the win with 14.39lbs and a 4lb kicker on a 66 boat field. Weights were pretty typical at Bartlett for this event last year with the top 7 all over 10lbs. 8th – 15th place were all between 8-9lbs and 50% of the field brought a limit to the scales.

Alamo Lake – March 18th, 2023

Last years event at Alamo was a lot of fun with Manny Madrid & David Rigo dominating the field with a 21.30lb bag and took home $5020. We had 45 boats last year with 30 teams weighing in over 10lbs and the top 9 weighing in 15lbs or more. Alamo Lake in the spring is always a blast with some great fishing.

Lake Pleasant – April 8th, 2023

Lake Pleasant can sometimes be the furthest thing from Pleasant, but not in the spring. The Spawn will be in full force and the clear waters of Lake Pleasant always make for a good time this time of year. Last year we had 50 teams come and battle it out with our 2x back to back champs Daniel Elias & Doc David taking home the win with 17.70lbs and 5.59 Big Fish good enough for $5326.00. The Top 20 had all weighed over 10lbs with the Top 7 having 15 plus pound bags.

Mohave Lake – April 22nd, 2023 ( OPEN EVENT )

Mohave is another amazing lake with insane water clarity. We will be here in the middle of the spawn which means some giant bags of big brown smallies. Last year we had 28 boats and almost had to cancel due to wind but it worked out ok and we had some big bags come to the scales. Rob and Mason Smook to home another win at Mohave with a 19.84lb bag and a 4.49lb kicker which was good enough for $3073. This event is one of my favorites of the year, if you haven’t been make sure not to miss out on this awesome fishery.

Bartlett Lake – May 13th, 2023

Should be some great fishing this time of year and I am sure the Smook’s will be in the hunt!

Roosevelt Lake – June 3rd, 2023

Last year we had two events at Roosevelt, one in May and one in June. The one in June had a total of 64 boats with Shane Edgar & Ethan Ryan taking home the win with 17.75lbs. They took home $6745 for their win. The event in June we only had 33 boats but despite the heat we started the event and ended a little early. TJ Roach and Alex Cetner got the win with 19.82lbs and an 8lb kicker, they walked away with $3500 for the win. I know the Summer sounds like a brutal time to be out there but its early Summer and the fishing is always incredible. Dont miss this one!
