FishIn48’s Cactus Cup Team Trail

The Cactus Cup Team Trail is back! We have some changes going into the 2024 season we are excited to roll out. This season we will be traveling to two new lakes we haven’t been to in previous seasons. We will be going to Lake Havasu for the first time on March 30th which will be during the spawn. It should be a slug fest with lots of big bags and some big smallies. Another slug fest will be sure to happen at our following event at Apache Lake on April 20th. I was at Apache this last year a few times during April and it was incredible. The rest of our schedule will consist of Bartlett, Martinez, Alamo, Pleasant and Roosevelt.

Contigencies

We have a new sponsor/partnership this year with PHX Marine. PHX Marine will be doing a $500 contingency at each event if the winner of the event has purchased a boat from PHX Marine in the last 3 years. PHX Marine will also be doing $100 to the winner at each event regardless if you have a boat from them or not. If you are in the market for a new boat they have a great line of boats from Skeeter, Charger, Phoenix, Express and the new Ikon Boats coming soon. We will be set up for all of our same contingencies from pervious seasons so make sure to sign up with your boat manufacturer so you can qualify to win some more money. Those will include: Skeeter, Ranger, Triton, Nitro, Phoenix, Basscat and Vexus. A&M Graphics will also continue their partnership and do a $300 payout to any winner with a wrap from A&M Graphics.

We have had some great sponsors supporting this trail since our first season. We have some new sponsors this year and some old ones. These sponsors help by donating product so we can hand out prizes for teams that are out of the money. We will also be doing something new this year at each event which will be a 50/50 raffle put on by Liars Korner. Liars Korner will be selling their tumbler mugs at each event which will have a raffle ticket inside each one. Each tumbler and ticket will be $10. The 50/50 drawing will be done once weigh in has concluded and before the awards ceremony. Q Bar will also be back this year at all local events to cook for all of our anglers at the weigh in. Changes for 2024

This season we will be testing some new things out to try and cater to a wider audience and have the most boats we can possibly get. We will be lowering the entry fee from $370 to $280 this season. The reason for the drop will be to allow teams that prefer a cheaper entry to come and fish this trail for their first time. For those that have been with us since day 1 and like the big payouts we will have options available that will keep us around a $400 all in entry fee. As of now the options will include a big bass option and our group option we have done in previous seasons. We might possibly add a 3rd option or just allow the group option to be entered into twice. Some more changes for the next season are listed below along with important info to remember for the season

• Must be at the dock by your due in time instead of the bouys
• Practice always on Fridays and must be off water at 5:00 PM. Mon – Thurs off Limits
• During practice you can fish with your team partner or any immediate family members
• During the warmer months we ask you bring frozen water bottles to keep in livewell during the drive through weigh in
• 50/50 Raffle and each event and we will be doing a few fishing raffles at some local events
• Q Bar will be at all local events, they will not be traveling to Havasu, Alamo, Martinez
• In order to receive prizes for those out of the money you must be present to win or it will be held over for championship
• Two Day Championship this season
• We will have fizz needles, belly weights, and gjuice for sale et each event. If you are not comfortable fizzing we recommend the belly weights
• Cut off for early reg will be the day before the event , Friday at 5 instead of Thursday
